U21 Rec
General Information
New to SEERA for the 2024-2025 season, we are planning to host a U21 Rec Team within the EFHL.
Requirements:
- The U21 Rec team is for players who have finished U18 in the Non-Body Checking Tiers (NBC 1, NBC 2 and NBC 3).
- It is not for players who have played contact hockey, so please do not register if you played contact hockey as it will be cancelled.
- Players with more than 50 PIMs and/or multiple suspensions in their final year of league play in U18 will not be eligible for U21 Rec.
Details:
- 1 practice at the start of the season.
- 18 League Games.
- No exhibition games, tournaments, playoffs or team events.
- This program is essentially adult recreation hockey for players born in 2004, 2005 & 2006 (for the 2024-25 Season).
Rules:
- No body contact
- Maximum three goals per game per player.
- After 3 penalties, the player is ejected from the game.
Cost:
- $450.00.
- As this is no-longer minor hockey, a community league membership will not be required.
This is a new program for SEERA, so we need to ensure there is sufficient interest to proceed with the program. As such, we cannot provide a guarantee the program will launch this season. In the 2023-24 season, teams hosted by SWZ, St Albert and Sherwood Park participated in U21 Rec and we are excited to have an opportunity to add a SEERA team to the league this coming season.
If we have too many players interested, we will also work through that as there are no boundaries and players can play elsewhere as well. It may be a first-come, first-served approach or we may have “tryouts” (not based on skill, but rather the attitude and commitment of that player on previous teams). Please be patient as we work through the details for this new program.
The first step to getting a team formed is to get you registered.
- If your last association was SEERA, you can go directly to the Register button.
- If your last association was not SEERA, you will need to complete the Parent Declaration Form and please make sure you add "seeraadmin@shaw.ca" where it asks Minor Hockey Association Submission - " Email address of the MHA for which the Player is registering". This ensures the SEERA Registrar receives a copy of the form and can process the transfer from the your old association to SEERA Hockey.
For program related questions - please contact Ryan Betker, U21 Rec Director, SEERA Hockey at u21@seerahockey.ca.
