Special Event: ALL GOALIE GAME

Hi SEERA Hockey families!

Have you heard about this All Goalie Game we are hosting Monday, Sept 23, 2024?

All U18 and U15 SEERA goalies are invited play (it will be added to TeamSnap for easy check-in). If you are an injured goalie, we still want you involved! Please come out, throw on your helmet and join the group on the bench.

To guide the goalies during the game, we are excited to have 3 graduated goalies coming back to volunteer as special guest coaches:

  • Ethan Kopeck
  • Jackson Sparks
  • Aiden Cranford

Of course an All Goalie Game has to have a few special rules, and they include:

  • No goalies in the net. You play every position but goalie, in full gear.
  • All faceoffs must be completed on your knees or in the butterfly position.
  • There is a mandatory 2 min break halfway through the game where all goalies must lay starfished in the middle of the ice.

This game is strictly for fun and to relieve some of the stress that comes along with evaluations for goalies. Teams will be divided as evenly as possible and they will play under the eye of volunteer refs (don’t worry, we’re sure not every off-side will get a whistle). To add a little ambiance, we also have an announcer and music to encourage the tendies to skate a little harder. Helping capture the event for memories and sharing, will be Edmonton’s own Frank Scholten, who will be at the rink to record the game and make reels for social media.

This is going to be a great game to watch and so much fun for the goalies. Please invite all your friends and family to come watch. We want to fill the building.
