Respect in Sport Parent Program
RESPECT IN SPORT- Parent
Hockey Edmonton requires that every player registered for Minor Hockey have a valid Respect in Sport Parent certificate associated with each players Hockey Canada profile.
- The 1 hour online certification program reinforces a parent's role in a child or youth's activities, encouraging postive sport behaviours, and providing insight into the various roles such as coach and offical play.
- It is Canada’s leading online bullying, abuse, harassment, and negligence prevention program for parents, coaches, and community leaders.
The Respect in Sport program is designed to protect our youth as well as enhance Hockey Alberta’s mandate of providing a safe and fun environment for all participants.
This program empowers parents to ensure the safety of their children, to encourage positive and effective communication, and to enhance a child's fun and camaraderie of the activity.
- One parent from each family much complete the course
- Cost is $12.00 plus gst
- If you have not yet completed the course when you register, you will have seven (7) days from the date of registration to complete the certification. Your child will be unable to participate in any pre-season shinny or evaluations unless and until you complete this course.
- Course is valid for 4 hockey season. Please ensure to take it after May 1st .
- Ensure you select SEERA Hockey for your home association

Ensure that select the correct association SEERA Hockey - you can confrim this by selecting the Child Managerment tab. Selecting the correct association ensures that the certification is linked to your players Hockey Canada ID in the Hockey Canada database.
